BAK News

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 22, 2026

BAK News ("we," "us") operates baknews.com. This policy explains what information is handled when you visit, in plain English — the same standard we apply to everything else on this site.

Information we collect

BAK News is a static website. We don't require accounts, and we don't ask you to submit personal information to read anything here. If you email us at hello@baknews.com, we receive what you send and use it only to respond; we don't add you to mailing lists or sell your address.

Hosting logs

Our hosting infrastructure (content-delivery and web servers) may automatically log standard technical data — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — for security, capacity, and debugging purposes, as virtually all websites' infrastructure does. We use such logs only in aggregate.

Cookies and analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand, in aggregate, which articles are read. Analytics tools can set cookies or use similar technologies to distinguish visits. You can block cookies in your browser settings without losing access to any content on this site.

Third-party advertising

We may display advertising served by third parties, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. Ad-serving vendors may collect the technical data described above when serving ads on this site; their use of that data is governed by their own privacy policies, including Google's policy on data from partner sites.

Children

This site is a general-audience publication about civics and economics and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights regarding personal information (access, deletion, opt-outs). Because we collect essentially none directly, the practical steps are: manage cookies in your browser, use the advertising opt-outs above, and email hello@baknews.com with any privacy question or request — we'll respond to all of them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. Material changes will be noted here.
